type='text'>2010 gun season

well here we go..all those bucks that were out of range during bow season will soon have my crosshairs on them...lol i'll be hunting in Buffolo co. again this year and i will have my 5 year old boy with me. we will be toughing it out in my truck watching for some deer to cross the field. it's a great way to get him started in hunting. he can stay warm and move around and talk with no worries. it seems to me that most of the doe are breed already but some will have bucks trailing them but i'm not expecting much of that. i think that when the guns start going off most bucks will be heading to thicker cover to lay low. good luck hunting and be safe
<img width='1' height='1' It was sunday afternoon nice warm day so i took a nap....a combine drove by on the road 200 yards from me and when i opened my eye's there stood a nice 8 pointer but half his rack was busted right off, soon after that i had 5 bucks feeding in the field with one looking pretty good but he was 100 yards from me. as i looked through my bino's i did a can call he never heard me ...but the 4 pointer did and he walked to me and the bigger 8 followed the 4 pointer 35 yards from my stand. it was a pretty arrow.. i hit him in the 12 ring and he went 40 yards and tipped over. he is a 8 pointer 16" wide. thanks for reading hunt safe

Aaron

Last weeks hunt 10/28/2010

Last weeks hunt started off with a bang, we got to the land around noon on Thursday and brought a good friend Steve D with that got back into bow hunting after 20 years. Also we had Rick Sanger and Steve Olson. Steve D was fortunate to be in the hot spot that night and score on a good buck. He wasn't a monster, but it was an awesome accomplishment. He is shooting an old Bear bow with aluminum arrows and shooting with fingers. We were not able to get the hunt on film, but we did film the recovery and it was awesome. Just to be there and experience Steve's emotions after we found the buck was almost as good as getting your own buck. Congrats to Steve on a great deer. We hunted hard the rest of the weekend, but it seemed like the movement went to all night time after Thursday and we saw very little deer. I hunted a different property on Saturday night and saw like 13 deer, but no shooters. We are off to go after it again tomorrow to see if we can can get a good buck down. It looks like the weather is going to turn warm after this weekend so hopefully I can get it done. Then Saturday after dark I am headed off to Lanesboro, Mn to film my good friend Tom from MonsterRaxx.com for the Mn gun season. Also members of the team that are hunting in northern Mn have a 153" 12 point on the ground and can't wait to see the pics of that guy. So check back with us to see some new video and pictures.

big bucks going down

well i would like to say i got one but nope, but what a awesome weekend, big bucks were dropping like flies in my area. their was 10 very large bucks shot on friday alone that i know of. some will score 180+. my brother in law dropped his biggest buck to date on friday, a very nice 9 pointer with a split brow tine. should gross around 140+. but some bigger bucks were seen just not close enough. my weekend was full of little bucks and doe's...i had 2 young bucks dogging a doe right under my tree so that was pretty cool. thanks for reading hunt safe and have fun.

Aaron

Great hunt on Saturday:

We got out on Saturday morning and before it was even light out the deer were moving. It was pretty light out due to the moon also. I had brought a good friend that got back into archery after not hunting in 20 years! I set him up in a spot that has been good in the past, but no one had hunted it yet this season. It wasn't much after day light broke he texted me and told me that he shot a big one. I couldn't believe it, the buck was chasing a doe and stopped at 30 yards. He drew back and let it go. I told him just wait and give him time because I had deer all around me. There were deer coming from all directions and I was just waiting for the big dog to come in. Then as I looked out on the point here come a dandy buck headed towards my way. He come in and chased two little bucks away and got after a doe and came right to me. I had only a few seconds to decide if I was going to take him. Well, I elected to let him go and off he went after his doe. He will be a great one next year! Now back to the beginning, I went down to meet my friend steve and go find his buck. We walked up to where he thought the buck was standing and we found the arrow, but it was clean as a whistle. He must have shot over his back or the buck dropped. He really thought he hit the buck because release felt great and the buck spun and ran 15 yards and stood for about 5 minutes or so then he heard a bunch of crashing. Sounded like a dead deer to me. The good thing is we all had a great weekend and will be looking forward to getting out again this week. I have Rick Sanger from the Drury's who won dream season with his wife is coming up this week to hunt all week with us so hopefully we will have some good stuff to share. Saturday morning came with my hopes high. i seen 5-6 does in the nearby field at about 8:30. they fed their way by me. not long after that i seen a buck cross the field at about 300 yards. 2 grunts and he was on his way, he was a nice 120ish 8 but not what i wanted. saurday afteernoon was exciteing right before dark 3 bucks came to the field, first one was tall and narrow the second was wide and spindely...the third one my bino's were shaking.. he is a very heavy, tall and wide 8 about 140-145". he came to the field edge and was working over some tree's and breaking branches with his horns. but by now it was getting to dark so i slipped out of there hopeing to see him this next weekend. we checked trail cams and i got that big 8 on cam makeing a scrape 50 yards from my stand. just a matter of time before we meet during shooting hours.

Jimmy (owner) How Elimatree came about

I started Elimatree only last spring and has come along ways in a short period of time. I got the idea when I had 3 trails that came together and all that was there was a scrub oak tree bush. So one day at work while I was on break I made a trail camera stand out of Stainless steel and placed it in the bush and it work perfect. So I used it all last fall and was thinking how can I improve this. I contemplated all winter long on if I should do something more with it. I did some research and found that there was nothing on the market like what I have come up with. So in a short period of time I decided I was heading to Madison Wisconsin to the deer classic. So this meant we had to make 100 stands!! I was up putting countless hours in on the lathe machining these things and got them done just in time to go to Madison. We sold like 60 stands at the show and we were super excited because I didn't even know if I was going to sell one. I was sick to my stomach wondering what the peoples response was going to be, it was almost all positive. So after the show I decided well lets see where this can go. I was fortunate enough to get in contact with Jay Gregory of the Wild Outdoors who is very highly respected in the hunting industry. He checked out my stand and weeks later we were talking about a deal for the 2011 season. I was ecstatic to say the least! So earlier this fall the Elimatree was seen as a product spotlight segment on the Outdoor channel. We are currently are selling the stands at 5 archery shops and was fortunate enough to talk to Jeff Miller and you can buy the Elimatree at Scheels. We are currently talking with some big companies and hopefully we will become a great company with great products. So in 2011 you will be seeing a lot more of the Elimatree on T.V. and we will be attending a lot of shows. Can't wait to see what the future holds for us.

Meet Team member Aaron:

Aaron is a great asset to have on Team Elimatree, He is a die hard hunter and loves to be in the outdoors.
